1. General information about the organisation

SEO/BirdLife, NIF-G28795961, is registered in the Registry of Associations with nº 3949 and declared of public interest by the Council of Ministers since the 27th of August of 1993.

SEO/Birdlife is a non-governmental (NGO), scientific and conservationist state-level organisation, a non-profit institution devoted to:

  • Conserving wild birds and their habitat in the Spanish territory as well as to contributing, through BirdLife International, to the conservation of the global biodiversity.
  • Carrying out scientific studies to boost the knowledge about wild birds and their habitat, especially as an indispensable tool for their conservation.
  • Spreading the knowledge, value and respect for birds and environment in general among society.
  • Carrying out environmental education activities and teacher training on the topics related to the aforementioned objectives.
  • Carrying out activities related to international development cooperation as the key driver for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in developing countries.
  • Developing environmental volunteering programmes to enhance the conservation status of species and natural areas.

SEO/BirdLIfe follows a strict Environmental Policy, being the first Spanish environmental NGO to obtain the AENOR certification for its Environmental Management System, according to the ISO 14001 standard.

Fundación Lealtad has endorsed the transparency in the management and the form of government of SEO/BirdLife.

2. Legal Notice about the Protection of Personal Data and transmission of commercial communications

SEO/BirdLife agrees to comply at all times with the current legislation in relation to the personal data protection law and, in particular, the Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPD), as well as the law on Spanish Services for Information Society and Electronic Commerce Act (LSSICE).

Registration of personal data, purpose and recipients
The information and/or data you voluntarily provide us with through our website, the services you access or the offers you take part in may be incorporated to a file owned by SEO/BirdLife, in order to manage and maintain our relationship with you, as well as to receive information about our activities and projects.

Furthermore, in accordance with the Organic Law 15/1999 of 13th of December on the Personal Data Protection (henceforth LOPD), SEO/BirdLife may obtain your data through duly authorised third parties, as well as public domain sources. In this respect, according to the current legislation, the sources considered as public domain are the promotional census, phone directories and lists of individuals belonging to groups of professionals.

Additionally, in compliance with the provisions set in the Spanish Services for Information Society and Electronic Commerce Act Law, when filling out our forms to access our services or taking part in our activities, we will obtain prior authorisation in order to send you commercial advertising and information about our services by any means (post, phone, email or SMS).

Access, amendment, cancellation and objection rights
In compliance with the provisions of the LOPD, you may exercise your right to access, amend, cancel and object, contacting our company through ordinary mail at the following address (SEO/BirdLife, C/ Melquíades Biencinto, 34, 28053 Madrid) or emailing us at seo@seo.org, indicating ‘LOPD’ as the subject. For that purpose, you may be required to provide your name, surname, address and phone number.

Unless SEO/BirdLife duly informs you about possible assignments of data to third parties and obtains your consent to do so, no third party unrelated to SEO/BirdLife, except for those cases under the current legislation, will have access to the users’ information and/or data from our website. Under no circumstances SEO/BirdLife will disclose to third parties any data related to minors who may access our website.

Cookies
When you access our website www.seo.org, we may store certain information on your computer in the form of a “cookie” or similar, which will help us in many ways; for example, it will allow us to adapt our website, or some of its areas, to your taste and preferences (e.g. remember the site you have previously accessed). Confidentiality and security in the processing of your data and electronic communications
SEO/BirdLife pledges to treat confidentially the user’s personal data, taking all the technical and organisational measures to guarantee the security of your personal data and avoid their alteration, loss, unauthorised treatment and/or access, given the state of technology, the nature of the stored data and the risks to which they are exposed, in accordance with the provisions of the Royal Decree 1720/2007 of 21st of December, approving the Regulation on the development of the Organic Law on Data Protection.

SEO/BirdLife ensures, whenever possible and according to the current state of the art, the confidentiality and integrity of data and information provided by customers and users of our website, www.seo.org, in order to comply with the aforementioned purposes.

3. Information for parents or guardians of minors

Our legal system, inter alia, the Organic Law on the Legal Protection of Children, as well as International Treaties, ratified by Spain, acknowledge the right of minors, in particular adolescents, to browse, receive and use appropriate information for the free development of one’s personality.

For this reason, the contents and information on our website www.seo.org have been developed based on didactic and informative criteria and are, therefore, adequate for them.

4. Legal notice on intellectual and industrial property

This website includes contents, texts, advertising material, illustrations, technical material of products or otherwise, database, sounds, computer programs, corporate emblems, distinguishing signs, brands, graphic designs, combination of elements, logos and images protected by intellectual and industrial property rights, of which SEO/Birdlife is owner or legitimate licensee.

In this respect, total or partial reproduction, public communication, modification, transformation, copy, distribution or any other kind of exploitation and manipulation of this website, its technical systems, contents, applications, source codes, design, selection and presentation of materials and, overall, information on this website is strictly prohibited.

Furthermore, it is also forbidden to break down, use reverse engineering or, generally, webcast or carry out derivative works with the computer programs necessary for the operation and access of this website and the services herein, as well as to exploit them in any way. In particular, it remains strictly prohibited to create links, hyperlinks, framming or similar links which could be established in the direction of the www.seo.org website, without prior consent of SEO/BirdLife.

5. Use of services and contents

All users accessing our website www.seo.org shall make appropriate use of the services and contents, acting in good faith and complying with the current legislation.

Additionally, in regards to the services offered on our website about which you may express your opinion, you agree not to publish, disseminate, broadcast, communicate or distribute any kind of material and/or, overall, information or opinions which could be contrary to the current legislation, moral or Public Order, may have defamatory or pornographic content, harm the honour and image of SEO/BirdLife or go against the rights of third parties, or ultimately offend other visitors or users. Such commitment extends to an appropriate use, via the designated means, of the purpose of the services and contents facilitated on our website. It also remains prohibited to make any use of the forums for lucrative gain or, in general, any detrimental use or disloyal behaviour towards the SEO/BirdLife website (e.g., divert traffic to another site).

SEO/BirdLife accepts no responsibility for any third-party content (chats, forums, news groups) which may not comply with the aforementioned and reserves the right to modify or, where appropriate, remove immediately from the website www.seo.org such contents or information, without compensation of any sort.
